MOUNT VERNON — The fifth graders went to St. Paul’s Church on Oct. 17 and learned about what life was like during the Revolutionary War.

The church has a connection to our local history and the anniversary of the Battle of Pell’s Point, an important Revolutionary War battle. The field trip was fun and a great way to learn about the past.

Everyone had a great time. So did the teachers.

Mr. Alexander Ventura, one of the fifth grader teachers, said, “It was very interesting and very important. I think an important part of social studies is understanding and making connections.”

This trip was important. It helped the fifth graders learn about their past. There were plenty of activities to keep the kids entertained and learning. It was a great setting too.
