Fire at Multifamily Home Displaces 45

A fire Yonkers early Friday morning forced the relocation of 45 people, one of whom is a 3-week-old child.
The blaze at the three-story multifamily home on Linden Street started around 12:30 a.m., according to lohud.com.
The American Red Cross was on the scene helping the families who had to evacuate.

A spokeswoman for the Red Cross told Patch that a reception center and shelter was established at Enrico Ferme School in Yonkers. Red Cross volunteers were on the scene working with the families to make sure all their immediate emergency needs were met.
There were 18 adults and 27 children.

FIOS1News.com said more than 60 firefighters were battling the blaze.
Six firefighters had to be taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
