Guidance Counselor Maria Sutherland Shares Trip To Tanzania With Students
Mrs. Sutherland shared her experiences with an AP Environmental Science class about wildlife in the Serengeti Plains.

From Pelham School District: Middle School Guidance Counselor Maria Sutherland shared her experiences from a trip to Tanzania, Africa with students in Robert Lieber’s AP Environmental Science class on Dec. 2. The presentation, which focused on wildlife in the Serengeti Plains, connected with subjects the students are learning about, such as predator/prey relationships, endangered species, and loss of habitat. Mrs. Sutherland, who visited Africa for the third time this past summer, shared photos and video of many different animals, such as lions, cheetahs, elephants, wildebeests, rhinos and hyenas. The goal of her trip was to track to predator cats as they followed the wildebeest migration.
