Hazy, Hot, Humid February: Pelham's Work Week Weather

PELHAM, NY — Yes, we know what the calendars says. It may be February, but it certainly isn’t going to feel like it Tuesday and Wednesday. The Hudson Valley could see record-breaking temperatures which would be more typical of April.

“The record high in Poughkeepsie is 63 degrees, and we should crack that number today,” Hudson Valley Weather said. “The weather this afternoon is more typical of what we’d expect to see in mid- to late April… so it’s truly a spring preview!”

Don’t get too used to the warmer weather, however.

The tail end of the week will still see higher than normal temperatures but will be 10 or so degrees cooler than Tuesday and Wednesday, and rain is in the forecast.

And what would February be in the Hudson Valley if there weren’t a slight chance of snow in the northern most parts of the region.

Here is the work week weather from the National Weather Service for southern Westchester:

• Tonight: Patchy drizzle after 11pm. Areas of dense fog after 7pm. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 50. Southwest wind around 7 mph.
• Wednesday: Patchy drizzle before 10am. Areas of fog before 10am. Otherwise, cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 69. Southwest wind 8 to 11 mph.
• Wednesday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly between 8pm and 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 42. West wind 7 to 9 mph becoming north after midnight.
• Thursday: Rain likely, mainly after 1pm. Cloudy, with a high near 45. North wind 8 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
• Thursday Night: A slight chance of rain and sleet before 1am, then a slight chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 34. Northeast wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
• Friday: A 50 percent chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 44.
• Friday Night: A 40 percent chance of rain before 1am. Patchy fog. Otherwise, cloudy, with a low around 40.
