Heat, Followed By Rain: Pelham's Work Week Weather

PELHAM, NY — Don’t get too used to the heat and humidity we will be experiencing Tuesday. Temps will cool down a bit as we get further into this shortened work week.

The guys at Hudson Valley Weather said humidity levels will rise on Tuesday making the mid- and upper 80s feel even hotter.

And the heat and humidity will add a little instability to the atmosphere making it possible for a pop-up afternoon thunderstorm in parts of the region.

“Then as we push into Thursday and Friday, the instability rises once again, and scattered showers are possible,” Hudson Valley Weather said, “possibly even a rumble of thunder.”

Here is the work-week weather from the National Weather Service for southern Westchester:

• Tuesday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 87. Light and variable wind.
• Tuesday Night: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 9pm. Patchy fog after midnight. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 62. South wind around 5 mph becoming light and variable.
• Wednesday: Patchy fog before 9am. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 75. East wind 7 to 10 mph.
• Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 56. Southeast wind 5 to 8 mph.
• Thursday: A 30 percent chance of rain, mainly after 3pm. Cloudy, with a high near 69. Southeast wind 5 to 8 mph.
• Thursday Night: A 40 percent chance of rain. Cloudy, with a low around 63.
• Friday: A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after noon. Cloudy, with a high near 78. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
• Friday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 64. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
