Hudson Valley Expecting Severe Thunderstorms Friday Afternoon, Evening

There could be damaging wind gusts, hail and an isolated tornado.

If you’ve been outside in the Hudson Valley Friday morning, you can feel the humidity.

Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather said rising humidity levels ahead of an approaching front will result in the formation of scattered strong to severe thunderstorm, with the highest risk appearing to be between 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

There could be damaging wind gusts, hail and an isolated tornado, though the chances of that fall into the 2 percent to 5 percent area.
