Lane Bryant Opens in Pelham

All week it has been clear that the opening of the new Lane Bryant location at 865 Pelham Parkway was iminent. Inside the storefront, workers were busy emptying boxes, hanging merchandise and preparing displays.

Now the grand opening is here, Friday is the day that the retailer hangs out an open sign on its most recent location.

To celebrate their grand opening, the store will offer a 40 percent discount on everything in the store (excluding DKNY Jeans, Spanx, Reebok and Seven7 products) from Friday, October 5 through Monday, October 8. Doors open at 10 a.m. 

The store joins Modell's Sporting Goods, Fairway Market, Home Goods and Marshall's Shoe Outlet in the retail tract. In June, popular food chain Smashburger opened there as well.

Lane Bryant is one of 4 brands operated by the Pennsylvania-based Charming Shoppes. They offer "trend-forward, sophisticated and high-quality fashion in sizes 14-28."

Their formula has clearly hit the mark with women shoppers. In 2011, Lane Bryant and their outlet stores achieved $992 million in retail sales.

The company operates nearly 2,000 stores nationally including Lane Bryant, Fashion Bug, Catherine's Plus Sizes and Lane Bryant Outlet with more than 27,000 employees. According to the company's website, as of April 2012, there were 801 Lane Bryant stores.
