Meet Your Farmer’s Market Vendors: Meredith’s Bread

Each week Pelham Patch will introduce you to a vendor from its farmer's market held every Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the corner of Harmon Avenue and Fifth Avenue.

Take a look at Meredith’s Bread, based in Kingston, NY, for this week’s edition of Meet Your Farmer’s Market vendors.

This week we introduce you to: Meredith’s Bread

Background Story: In 1987, Bob and Lynne Allen bought the Meredith’s Bread label after a local woman decided to sell it.  The Allens had worked a farm stand for close to 15 years prior that sold fruit, vegetables, plants, and their own baked goods.  They bought the label after realizing that they had something special and originally sold their products wholesale to supermarkets and food stores in Westchester.  They talented couple then realized they were better suited for farmer’s markets and dropped the wholesaling company.  They provide over 300 varieties of quality baked goods and now sell to 44 farmers markets.
