Mt. Vernon Resident & WJCS Client Featured in The New York Times Neediest Cases Series

Mt. Vernon resident Elaine Baez, know as “The Doll Lady” for the creative dolls she makes, was profiled in today’s New York Times’ Neediest Cases series. A client of Westchester Jewish Community Services, Baez is coping with trauma from an abusive past, but finds solace in dressing discarded dolls and selling her wares on the streets of Mt. Vernon.
