New Jobs Added Around Pelham: State Report

PELHAM, NY — The Hudson Valley continued to add jobs in the past 12 months, according to data released Thursday by the New York State Department of Labor.

Overall, Dutchess-Putnam added 1,900 jobs in the private and public sectors, an increase of 1.3 percent. Orange-Rockland-Westchester added 11,100 non-farm jobs, an increase of 1.6 percent. And the Kingston metro area beat them both, with 1,600 private and public sector non-farm jobs, an increase of 2.6 percent.

For private sector jobs only, two of the three Hudson Valley metro areas were among the five in New York State with the most rapid growth:

  • Ithaca (+7.0%)
  • Kingston (+4.0%)
  • New York City (+2.3%)
  • Orang-Rockland-Westchester (+1.8%)
  • Watertown-Fort Drum (+1.6%)
