Nice, Then Heat Returns: Pelham's Work Week Weather

PELHAM, NY — Of course when we return to work, the rain and storms are nowhere to be found in the Hudson Valley. After the weekend’s unsettled — and frequently stormy — weather, the work week begins with a couple of days with dry and sunny conditions.

“Dry air is projected to punch in from Canada, allowing sunshine and low humidity to return to the region on Monday and Tuesday,” said AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Alex Sosnowski.

The next chance for precipitation, with some thunderstorms thrown in most likely, will be overnight Wednesday into Thursday.

Then the heat returns to end the week and the month, with temps in or near the low 90s.

Here is the forecast for the work week from the National Weather Service for southern Westchester:

• Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 80. Northwest wind 14 to 16 mph.
• Monday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 58. North wind 7 to 10 mph.
• Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 77. Northeast wind around 6 mph becoming south in the afternoon.
• Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 62. South wind around 8 mph.
• Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 77. South wind 5 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph.
• Wednesday Night: A chance of showers, then showers and thunderstorms likely after midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 67. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
• Thursday: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 81.
• Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 69.
• Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 89.
• Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 70.
