'Night Hawks' Youth Program Receives $11K Grant
This one-year grant, courtesy of the Westchester Community Foundation, supports the youth development program at the Edward Hopper House.

From the Edward Hopper House: This one-year grant will support the “Night Hawks” youth development program at the Edward Hopper House, which engages teens by teaching them leadership skills to deliver exhibitions, tours and programs to the public. The Night Hawks will interpret Edward Hopper’s experience in Nyack as a young artist and its effects on his renowned artwork. Not only will the Night Hawks serve as junior docents at the Edward Hopper House, they will also attend trips to other cultural art organizations, and participate in college prep activities. The Night Hawk youth development program will enable teens to explore arts, culture and history within a context that highlights confidence, dedication, and enthusiasm.
The Edward Hopper House thanks the Rockland Community Foundation, which improves the quality of life for the communities they serve by increasing local charitable giving. The Rockland Community Foundation provided the connection to the Westchester Community Foundation, to whom the Edward Hopper House is grateful for their enthusiastic support of our public programming and arts education.
The Westchester Community Foundation’s mission is to connect generous people to the causes they care about and invest in transformative ideas and organizations to improve lives and strengthen our community. WCF is a division of the New York Community Trust, one of the largest community foundations in the country, with assets of approximately $2.6 billion.
