Pelham voters approved a $57.5 million bond proposal in 2018 that included a new state-of-the art building. The 68,0000 square foot school, built by Triton Construction Management to a design by KG+D Architects, PC, serves students in grades K-5. Features include a central learning commons/atrium and MakerSpace surrounded by two floors of flexible classroom space, a full-sized gymnasium that is intended to serve both the school and greater Pelham community, and a multipurpose room/cafeteria. The new building is ADA accessible and has been built to meet a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver standard.
The new school was built on the property of the former Hutchinson Elementary School, which will be torn down in the coming months to make way for a new playing field and playgrounds.
