Pelham Bride-to-be Says 'Yes' to Snowy Marriage Proposal
It was truly a night to remember, and not just because of the snow.
It wasn’t just any old snowstorm this weekend for two people in Pelham, but will certainly be one they will always remember.
Sure there was snow. But there was also a ring and a marriage proposal for Pelham resident Ashley Scorziello and Sean Colwell of Bellmore, Nassau County.
Scorziello was supposed to go out for dinner Saturday with a few hometown girlfriends, and the plan was to have Colwell show up at the end to surprise her.

However, there was a snowstorm going on, and one by one, restaurants began closing and travel bans kept some of the guests from getting to Pelham.
Colwell took matters in hand by escorting Scorziello outside to “play in the snow,” along with two of her friends from Saratoga Springs who had to trek through the blizzard on foot to be there.

With the friends looking on and Scorziello’s mother and stepfather at the front door, Colwell got down on one knee and proposed to her in the middle of the street as the snow kept falling.
Kelly Lamy, Scorziello’s mother, said it was a picture-perfect moment, despite all the changes of plans.
“Couldn’t have been more perfect, right there, in the middle of the street, in the snow,” Lamy said, adding it was “truly a night to remember.”
