Pelham Manor Condo Dweller Reports Jewelry Theft

Woman says this isn't the first time jewelry has gone missing from her apartment

A Pelham Manor woman says she is out of approximately $18,000 of jewelry taken from her Wynnewood Rd. residence and that this isn't this first time she noticed a loss.

The woman said three pricy gold bracelets were taken from her dresser drawer. One bracelet was valued at $14,000 and the others at $1,000 and $3,000. The woman said she put them in her dresser drawer the last time she wore them in mid February.

Police are currently investigating the loss which was reported on March 18. The woman said a pair of earrings went missing in December, but she did not report that incident to police after speaking to her building association.

The woman told police she has kept a key to her residence in a hallway location for years, but the key was recently moved. She discovered the key was moved from where she left it and placed under her doormat in December.

According to the police report, both the building superintendent and assistant superintendent denied knowledge of either incident. The woman also said she employed a home health care nurse who accessed the residence 3 days a week but she could not provide her phone number or address to police.
