Pelham Memorial High School To Celebrate Centennial

An Oct. 16 celebration will commemorate the rich history of Pelham's iconic high school.

Pelham Memorial High School will celebrate its 100-year anniversary with a Centennial Celebration on Saturday, October 16, 2021. The event which, will begin at 11am and take place on Ingalls Field, will commemorate the rich history of Pelham’s iconic high school.

Students, alumni, current/former faculty/staff and the entire Pelham community are invited to join the celebration, which will feature several speakers, student music performances, a history of PMHS through the decades, tours of the building featuring academic and architecturally significant elements of the school, and more.

The Centennial Celebration also ties in with PMHS Homecoming weekend. All are encouraged to come out and support the Pelicans all weekend long as they compete in football, volleyball, soccer, tennis, field hockey and cheerleading!

“This is an incredible opportunity to celebrate Pelham Memorial High School, which has served generations of Pelham students,” said Principal Mark Berkowitz and Dr. Maria Thompson, Director of Humanities, who are jointly planning the Centennial. “We hope that all who have a connection to this special school will join us as we honor its incredible legacy and celebrate 100 memorable years of PMHS.”

Anyone planning to attend is asked to register in advance for a printed name tag, which will allow attendees to foster connections with others at the event.

Those interested in a tour of the school are also asked to sign up in advance. About three tours of 15 people each will run each hour. All Tours will begin at the 575 Colonial Avenue Main Entrance and conclude at the Franklin Field Covered Breezeway located between Pelham Memorial High School and Pelham Middle School.

Please note that due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, all guests will be required to wear masks while indoors.
