Pelham Middle School Choruses Perform Winter Concert
The winter performance by the Pelham Middle School Choruses was directed by Maria Abeshouse.
From Pelham Public Schools: The winter concert season continued on Dec. 20 with a performance by the Pelham Middle School Choruses directed by Maria Abeshouse.
The event kicked off with the 6th Grade Chorus, which performed “May Joyful Music Fill the Air,” by Thomas Tallis and arranged by Russell Robinson, traditional English Carols “Sweet Singing in the Choir,” arranged by Emily Crocker, and “Mi Burrito Sabanero,” by Hugo Blanco.
Next on the stage was a piano solo of Frederic Chopin’s “Scherzo in B minor” performed by Isaac Blackburn.

The 7th and 8th Grade Choruses began with “Sing a Joyful Song” by Cynthia Gray, the traditional Irish air “Danny Boy” arranged by Julie Knowles, a Russian folk tune “Sleigh Bells” arranged by Earlene Rentz, and “Elijah Rock” by Roger Emerson.
Choruses from grades 6-8 then joined together for Baruch Cohon’s Hanerot Halalu arranged by Blanche Chass and “The Christmas Song” by Robert Wells and Mel Torme.
