Pelham School Board to Present Math Study at Tonight's Meeting
The Pelham school board will present the results of a study of its K-12 math program that was conducted by evaluators from Rutgers, Syracuse and Seton Hall universities along with Bank Street College.
The Pelham school board is presenting the results of the Rutgers University team’s evaluation of the district’s math curriculum during tonight’s school board meeting.
The evaluation includes surveys and interviews with teachers, parents, students, administrators and school board members. The group also conducted class visits and reviewed other data as part of its investigation. A copy of the math study is available in one of the PDFs to the right of this story.
The meeting begins at 8 p.m. at Alumni Hall, located inside the Pelham Memorial High School.
Prior to the meeting, the district is having a reception to honor its retiring staff members. Staff members who are retiring this year include Elaine Barnabei, Kiki Burpee, Felice Cipriano, Jeryl Delco, Joseph DelVecchio, Joseph Longobardi, Leslie Lowery, James Urban and Lorraine Woodley.
Robert D. Eicher and Douglas Hearle are also retiring from the school board this year. The reception begins at 7:30 p.m., inside Alumni Hall, and is open to the public.
