
Sophomore research students at Pelham Memorial High School competed in and won multiple awards at the second Annual Westlake Science Fair: A First-Year Science Research Competition.
The science fair, which is the only science research competition of its kind in the state, was held June 1 at Westlake High School in Thornwood.
Each student or team was judged at least three to four times over a four-hour period, said spokeswoman Angela Iadavia-Cox.
Pelham ranked third out of the 28 schools, that were showcasing the work of 269 students.

Jeffrey Tsang—2nd place Microbiology
T.J Hurd and Christin Abraham—2nd place Chemistry
Luke Hellum—3rd place Medicine and Health
Sophia LaRoche—3rd place Behavioral
Matthew Baffuto and Patrick Diffley—3rd place Environmental Science
