Pelham Students Raise Funds for American Heart Association

Fourth and fifth graders raised more than $23,000 for the American Heart Association through the annual Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser.

From Pelham Public Schools: Fourth and fifth graders across all four elementary schools raised more than $23,000 for the American Heart Association through the annual Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser. Each year, the schools’ physical education teachers organize the event, in which students collect sponsors and donations before jumping rope to raise funds and awareness. The money that is raised goes to help children with heart-health issues. In addition to the fundraiser, the students develop healthy habits and learn about the value of community service.

Fundraising totals by school: Colonial - $3,157, Hutchinson - $1,500, Prospect Hill - $10,540, Siwanoy - $8,100.
