Pelham Weather Update: Steady Snow to Fall During Tonight's Evening Commute

Today’s the first day of spring and of course snow will begin falling soon and be at its heaviest for the evening commute home from work.

The National Weather Service issued a “Winter Weather Advisory” Thursday for the communities in Westchester County, which remains in effect until early Saturday.

Snow accumulations could reach a total of 2-6 inches throughout parts of the region.

The weather service predicts hazardous travel conditions are possible due to reduced visibilities and slippery roads.

Below is the area forecast for tonight and the weekend from the NWS:

This Afternoon: Snow. Temperature falling to around 32 by 4pm. Wind chill values between 25 and 30. East wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.

Tonight: Snow, mainly before midnight. Steady temperature around 30. Wind chill values between 20 and 25. East wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 43. Wind chill values between 25 and 35. Calm wind becoming west 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 28. Wind chill values between 20 and 25. Northwest wind 11 to 13 mph.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 37. Northwest wind 11 to 13 mph.

Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 23.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 38.
