Daniela Marini, whose studio is in Pelham, is one of 34 New York State artists exhibiting at the fifth Contemporary Art Fair NYC May 8-11 at The Tunnel in Chelsea. There are 100 in all.
Marini notes on her website, http://www.dmariniart.com/ "Much like the game of finding shapes in the clouds of the sky, my drawings, paintings and sculpture depict images that can be perceived uniquely each time they are examined. I enjoy the roller coaster-like way life is led, through one's ephemeral perceptions and I create similar environments in my work.

"We curate this fair to exhibit master-quality work, and we distinguish it from the some 10 other art fairs running concurrent with Frieze NY in essential ways,” said Richard Rothbard, co-founder and director of the art fair. “Following the tradition of major museums, seasoned masters will exhibit both functional and fine art, sculpture and photography. We acknowledge the timeless oeuvre of jewelers, glassmakers and cabinet makers, innovative ceramists, weavers, wood and metalworkers whose textiles, ironwork, furniture, fashion and decorative accessories are tomorrow’s heirlooms. In our 30+ years producing events that spotlight and support artists, this interplay of artistic skills and perspective has clearly enhanced and elevated the artisanship of each.

“In addition, we commit to independent artists without art gallery representation. Visitors will meet the artists—not their agents—and discover the inspirations for their one-of-a-kind work. While the mega shows are prohibitively expensive for most artists, our mission is to provide an elegant showcase, at reasonable cost, to give artists a viewing and collectors, museum curators and gallery directors the opportunity to meet and identify the artists well on their journey to international recognition,” Rothbard concluded.
