Shiver Through The Work Week In Pelham

PELHAM, NY — Unfortunately, the warm spring days the Hudson Valley experienced last Friday and Saturday — in spite of the stiff, cool wind — are nowhere in this week's forecast.

The Hudson Valley should, however, be spared any snow from two storms headed to upstate New York this week. Plus, Wednesday and Friday are likely to be temperate.

"Those who bought annual flowers and sensitive vegetable plants in the warmth this past week may need to protect their investment," saidAlex Sosnowski, AccuWeather senior meteorologist, recommending covering plants.

Here is the forecast from the National Weather Service for the week for southern Westchester:

• Today: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm, mainly before 4pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. High near 58. Breezy, with a southeast wind 16 to 21 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
• Tonight: A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly before 8pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 38. Southwest wind 9 to 16 mph.
• Tuesday: A 20 percent chance of showers after noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 50. West wind around 11 mph.
• Tuesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 36. Wind chill values between 30 and 35. West wind 9 to 11 mph.
• Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 54. West wind around 11 mph.
• Wednesday Night: A 30 percent chance of rain after midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 41.
• Thursday: A 40 percent chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 53.
• Thursday Night: A 40 percent chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 38.
• Friday: A 30 percent chance of rain. Partly sunny, with a high near 52.
• Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 38.
