Photos from the Pelham Art Center's 'Studio Cafe' Event
The following photographs were taken during the Pelham Art Center's 14th annual "Studio Cafe." Nearly 180 people attended the event, which raised money for the center's programming.

Studio Café, held on Saturday evening, Nov. 5th, boasted nearly 200 people, with nearly all auction items sold.
This year’s Studio Café was co-chaired by Lisa Daley and Judith Fishlow Minter, who transformed the galleries, art studios and courtyard into a magical party celebrating the arts.
In front of the tented courtyard, glowing video sharks swam across the windshield of Chris Smith’s outdoor installation Buick Fish Bowl, while inside the Art Center guests perused the art, bid on art and other auction items; and dined and wined on select offerings from 19 restaurants and caterers. Brian Christopher and the Jazzy 3 stirred with evening with seductive jazz tunes.
Director Lynn Honeysett thanked the guests for supporting the many free art exhibits, activities, performances, workshops and outreach that Pelham Art Center offers and asked everyone to think about exercising their creative muscle by taking an arts class from the dozens offered for all ages in a huge variety of media.
Board chair Barbara Carden thanked the many contributors to the event, including the co-chairs, restaurants, art donors, auction donors, businesses and services as well as boards, staff and volunteers. She then presented this year’s auctioneer, Lisa Robb, former director of the Art Center and presently executive director of New York State Council on the Arts. Lisa led an animated live auction that culminated in the $5000 sale of an iconic Ben Shahn’s mid-century ink drawing, The Business Man, bought by Jodi and Dan Glucksman. As well as artwork, the live auction offered guests the opportunity to purchase a bused Gallery Tour for a school, complete with an exhibit tour and art-making workshop at Pelham Art Center.
Pelham Art Center offers free art exhibits, art workshops, folk art performances and workshops and affordable arts classes. With a mission to make art accessible to all, the Art Center also reaches out to those traditionally sidelined from participation in the arts, such as families, children and individuals challenged by finances, location, disabilities and age.
