Picture House Brings Italian Culture to Pelham

The Picture House is hosting the Westchester Italian Film Festival this week.

Columbus Day may have come and gone, but the celebration of Italian heritage is far from over.

The Picture House in Pelham is hosting the 11th annual Westchester Italian Film Festival Friday through Sunday. The festival, which is hosted by the Generoso Pope Foundation, will feature some of Italy’s most recent theatrical releases.

The Generoso Pope Foundation is philanthropic organization started by the Pope family to support the Westchester County community.

The following films will be shown during the festival: “Weddings and Other Disasters,” “Corpo Celeste,” “Happy Family,” “20 Cigarettes,” and  “Love and Slaps.”

A complimentary wine reception will be held during the 7 p.m. Saturday showing of “Happy Family.”

"I am thrilled that, with the 11th Annual Westchester Italian Film Festival, we're able to
share some of the most lauded films coming out of Italy this year,” said Ilya Tovbis, the Picture House’s director of film programming. “From the intimate tale of adolescent awakening featured in “Corpo Celeste”—which makes its US debut at the prestigious New York Film Festival a week earlier—to the romantic comedy “Love and Slaps” and the timely war chronicle “20 Cigarettes,” our slate is as impressive as it is broad."

General admission tickets $12; $9 for members; and $10 for seniors, students and children. Advanced purchase tickets cost $10; $6 for members; and $9 for seniors, students and children.
