The Picture House Launches 'Get in the Picture' Fundraising Campaign
Since 1921, The Picture House has served as a cultural center and community hub in Pelham and Westchester County.

The following announcement is from The Picture House in Pelham:
The Picture House (TPH) has launched a new end-of-the year annual campaign called “Get in the Picture.” Designed to raise awareness of The Picture House and its innovative programming across Westchester and the Bronx, the campaign features Picture House supporters—from board members and Film Club members to families, film-industry insiders, film students, and movie-goers from Southern Westchester.
John Calvelli, Chair of the Picture House board of Directors, spoke of the goals of the campaign: “We have a terrific community asset with great programming for all tastes at The Picture House. We want people to know about it – and to help us support it. Like any other arts organization, we are supported by our members and by large and small donations from the audiences we serve.”

Ticket sales account for about a third of The Picture House operating budget – standard for what is essentially a single screen movie theatre. (The Picture House’s second theatre, the Screening Room, seats 14 people. While extraordinarily comfortable and a perfect venue for some of The Picture House’s more adventurous programming, it is not a major revenue source.)
“The campaign is also a celebration of our members,” said Executive Director Laura deBuys. “We’ve been a community hub since 1921 – a lot of memories have been made here! The campaign will share some of those stories – and we hope other Picture House fans will post their own.” deBuys added that each day in December, the top donor of the day will be thanked on the movie theatre’s iconic marquee.
