“Planting for Pollinators” At The Native Plant Center Spring Landscape Conference

Environmental horticulturist and popular
blogger Kim Eierman will speak at
the Native Plant Center Spring Landscape
Conference
at Westchester Community
College
on Monday, March 17th
from 11:30 AM-12:30 PM.  With her
presentation “Planting for Pollinators,”
Eierman offers tips on how everyone from novice gardeners to
professional landscapers can support pollinators such as bees by the choices
they make in their own gardens.

“Pollinators
like honey bees are responsible for the reproduction of almost 70% of the
flowering plants across the globe and are absolutely critical to our
environment,” says Eierman.  “Sadly, they
have been in steep decline for several years now, but, by making simple changes
in the way that we garden, we can all work towards reversing the trend.”

The Native Plant Center Spring
Landscape Conference, with keynote speaker Dr. Doug Tallamy, takes place on
Monday, March 17th from 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM at Westchester Community
College in Valhalla, NY.  Online
registration is available until March 16th at http://www.mysunywcc.org/events/event_details.asp?id=393031&group.
