PMHS Creative Writing Contest Winners
Rachel Brewer, Sam Rodd and Erin Cohen were all prize winners at the 'Pelham Reads Oz' creative writing contest.
PELHAM, NY - From Pelham School District: Congratulations to PMHS students Sam Rodd (center), Rachel Brewer(left) and Erin Cohen (right) who won 1st, 2nd and 3rd place respectively in “The Wizard of Oz” creative writing contest. Rodd’s piece, “Seeking Employment,” Brewer’s “Good Is More Than Great,” and Cohen’s “The Aftermath,” will be published in an upcoming eBook available for all to read. The contest, which was open to students in grades 9-12, was run in conjunction with the Pelham Library’s “Pelham Reads Oz” event. Contestants were asked to write pieces of flash fiction (less than 500 words) or a short story (500-2,000 words) to be judged by fiction authors and literary agents.
