Police: Westchester Woman Illegally Collected $20K in Unemployment Benefits

The arrest stems from a complaint received by the New York State Department of Labor Special Investigation Division.

New York State Police recently arrested 33-year-old Yonkers resident Victoria Bennett on felony charges related to her allegedly collecting more than $20,000 in Unemployment benefits while she was working.

On August 30, 2014, The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Hawthorne barracks charged Victoria Bennett, age 33, of Yonkers, New York, with Offering a False Instrument for Filing 1st Degree and Grand Larceny 3rd Degree, both felonies.

The arrest stems from a complaint received by the New York State Department of Labor Special Investigation Division. It is alleged that Bennett unlawfully collected over $20,000 worth of unemployment insurance benefits while she was gainfully employed.

Bennett was issued an Appearance Ticket ordering her to appear in the City of Yonkers Court on September 17, 2014.
