Possible Thunderstorms, Damaging Winds Forecast for Hudson Valley Tuesday

The Hudson Valley woke up to cloudy skies and muggy conditions, but a slow moving cold front could produce thunderstorms later Tuesday.

The National Weather Service issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for the lower Hudson Valley.

There is a risk of severe thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon and evening as the cold front approaches.

Strong to damaging winds are the primary threat, though heavy rain could produce isolated flash flooding in low-lying poor drainage areas.

Otherwise, the forecast calls for cloudy skies with a high in the upper 70s.

The chance of precipitation is 40-50 percent.
