Reaching the Child with Autism: A Luncheon Program

Susan Deland, author and Pelham resident, will speak about her book, "Spectacular Bond: Reaching the Child with Autism," on Sunday, January 26, 2014, at noon in the library of Huguenot Memorial Church, 901 Pelhamdale Avenue, Pelham. Suggested donation: $10.

Gain awareness about autism and learn practical action steps that prove useful to all parents. Susan will describe her journey as a parent of a daughter diagnosed at age 3 with an autism spectrum disorder and her successful search for the program that would give her daughter the best chance for a rewarding future. She will give details about the Spectacular Bond program, a unique home-based, parent-led behavioral intervention that can help the autistic child realize the gifts that exceed the challenges.

The book is coauthored by Marion Blank, developmental psychologist and creator of the Spectacular Bond program, and Suzanne Goh, pediatric neurologist. The book is available from Amazon in paperback and Kindle. Books will be on sale at the luncheon for autographs.
