Tri-M Music Honor Society Inducts 29 PMHS Students

Tri-M honors talent and achievements plus community service and more.

From Pelham School District: Twenty-nine PMHS students were inducted into the Tri-M Music Honor Society at a ceremony on Nov. 19, 2018. In addition to honoring their musical talents and achievements, Tri-M recognizes the students’ hard work in charitable endeavors, such as fundraising and performing for the elderly and less fortunate.

Inducted this year were: Albert Ai, Grace Aronson, John-Howard Bissell, Isaac Blackburn, Zoe Casey, Canming (Ricardo) Cui, Guy Eustace, Matthew Giarrizzo, Dylan Giglio, Lukas Glist, Jack Hopkins, Morgan Jenkins, Ava Juliano, Lauren Kuster, Allison Lange, Dylan Lee, Benjamin Levine, Michael Li, Ann Liu, Viiolet Massie-Vereker, Lucas Matos, Tara Matz, Malia McLellan, Emily Nakayama, Emma Spencer, Matyas Spunberg, Mark Tarazi, Giovanna Vitale, Sophie Xu.

The ceremony featured several performances, including: “Trumpet Voluntary” by Ava Juliano on piano, “The Star Spangled Banner,” sung by Jack Hopkins, “Elegy” with Canming (Ricardo) Cui on Violencello and Isaac Blackburn on Piano, “Remember Me” sung by Malia McLellan with Isaac Blackburn on piano, “English Suite #3” by Isaac Blackburn on piano, “Praludium for Two Cellos” with Matys Spunberg and Guy Eustace on cello and Ava Juliano on piano, “Cello Suite #1” with John-Howard Bissell on double bass, and “Concerto #3” with Albert Ai on Violin and Isaac Blackburn on piano.

The keynote speaker was Interim Middle School Principal Sean Llewellyn, who has been a musician in various bands and group for most of his life. Mr. Llewellyn was awarded an honorary membership into the Tri-M Society.
