WEATHER UPDATE: Air Quality Alert Issued for Westchester County

High levels of ozone are in the area.

The National Weather Service has issued an Air Quality Alert until 11 p.m. Wednesday due to high levels of the ground pollutant ozone in Westchester County.

“Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of ground level ozone,” writes the NWS.

Temperatures in the region Wednesday are expected to reach 90 degrees under sunny conditions.

People sensitive to pollutants like ozone - such as the elderly, the very young and asthma sufferer - should consider limiting strenuous outdoor activities Wednesday.
