Weather Update: Storms Approaching Westchester

The National Weather Service has issued alerts for the region.

The National Weather Service issued Short Term Forecast and a Hazardous Weather Outlook Monday morning for storms headed toward the Lower Hudson Valley and Westchester.

Rain - heavy at times - will be on and off throughout the day and evening, according to the NWS. The storm is moving swiftly eastward and could produce thunder.

AT 854 AM EDT...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED MODERATE TO HEAVY SHOWERS MOVING ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE LOWER HUDSON VALLEY AND NORTHEAST NEW JERSEY. THESE SHOWERS WERE MOVING EAST AT 50 MPH AND MAY BE BRIEFLY HEAVY AT TIMES. AN ISOLATED RUMBLE OF THUNDER CANNOT BE RULED OUT. MOTORISTS SHOULD USE EXTRA CAUTION IF TRAVELING IN THESE LOCATIONS THIS MORNING.
