Coldplay, the world-famous rock band from London, will play the halftime show at Super Bowl 50, the Wall Street Journal is reporting.

Coldplay, formed in 1996 by frontman Chris Martin, would represent a slight shift away from newer pop stars like Katy Perry and Bruno Mars, who played the last two Super Bowl halftimes.

Neither the NFL nor Coldplay has confirmed the Wall Street Journal report.
An official announcement could also coincide with a reported Coldplay album release today, Dec. 4.
Super Bowl 50 will be played on February 7, 2016 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
