Wintry Mix, Then Rain: Pelham's Work Week Weather

PELHAM, NY — Now that we got that pesky April snow out of the way, how about some … wintry mix, then rain? I know it seems as if we just can’t shake the winter-type weather even if it is spring. But this week we are going to flirt with a high of 60 degrees briefly, but it will likely be raining.

Southern Westchester will probably be spared the wintry mix, but will not avoid precipitation.

The wintry mix or just plain rain will continue through Wednesday, but once that’s over, we will be closing out the work week with early spring temps and partly cloudy skies.

Here is the forecast from the National Weather Service for southern Westchester:

• Monday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 33. Southwest wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening.
• Tuesday: Rain, mainly after 9am. High near 43. Light southeast wind becoming east 6 to 11 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
• Tuesday Night: Rain before 7pm, then a chance of showers after 7pm. Temperature rising to around 44 by 5am. East wind 3 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
• Wednesday: Showers likely, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 11am. High near 60. South wind 6 to 16 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
• Wednesday Night: Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 33. Breezy, with a northwest wind 19 to 24 mph decreasing to 11 to 16 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 36 mph.
• Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 46.
• Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 36.
• Friday: Partly sunny, with a high near 50.
• Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 34.
