WJCS announces a free10-week support program for mothers and kids in Mt. Vernon who have experienced domestic violence. All group members can receive case management and in-home services to address individual and family needs.
The program, called Empowering Moms and Kids, is being offered by the WJCS Treatment Center for Trauma and Abuse. It is designed specifically for mothers with children between the ages of 4 and 7 who either live or receive services in Mt. Vernon. The weekly sessions will include free childcare, dinner and MetroCards for those who use public transportation.
Empowering Moms and Kids meets Wednesdays, beginning April 9, 2014, from 3:45 to 5:15 PM at Sacred Heart Church, 115 S. 5th Avenue, Mt. Vernon.
