Work Week Weather: Summery to Start

It’ll feel like summer to start off the work week—temperatures on Monday will climb, hitting 81 degrees at 2 p.m. in Pelham, according to weather.com.

For the rest of the week, think close to the same—the highs will be in the mid-70s and, for the first time, the lows won’t drop below 50.

The warm days this week in the Northeast will serve as a preview of the “periods of warmer-than-normal temperatures that will come and go during the course of the summer,” AccuWeather.com Expert Long-Range Forecaster Paul Pastelok expects.

Meteorologists continue to monitor the potential for the development of a tropical system off the the SE coast.

“Forecast models have been flirting with this idea for a few days now, and conditions are certainly favorable despite it being early in the season,” said Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather.

Here’s the work-week forecast from the National Weather Service:

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 81. Light west wind becoming southwest 10 to 15 mph in the morning.

Monday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 59. South wind 6 to 11 mph.

Tuesday: Scattered showers and thunderstorms after noon. Increasing clouds, with a high near 76. West wind 3 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

Tuesday Night: A chance of showers. Cloudy, with a low around 55. Calm wind. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Wednesday: A slight chance of showers before noon. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 72. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 52.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 76.

Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 54.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 75.

Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 56.
