• Resident brings Route 77 safety concerns to state DOT (thebatavian.com) — Safety around Pembroke Central School District on Route 77 is under review after a Darien Center resident and Pembroke graduate pushed state and local officials for lower speeds, better signs, and a crosswalk for students walking to nearby businesses. State DOT has received her letter and is deciding whether to launch a formal traffic and pedestrian safety study at the busy stretch by the school.
