ā¢ Mining company faces fine after blast sends debris into Penfield playground and pickleball courts (whec.com) ā State regulators have halted blasting at Dolomiteās Penfield quarry and fined the company $135,000 after rocks from a September blast landed in a Penfield park, damaging a playground, pickleball courts, and a car. No one was hurt, but operations at all eight Dolomite quarries are paused until new blasting plans are approved, with $30,000 of the fine contingent on compliance.
