• In local cemeteries, bees rise from among the dead (wamc.org) — Researchers studying gentle ground‑nesting bees recently visited White Haven Memorial Park in Pittsford, where they’re posting signs to reassure visitors the bees are harmless and beneficial pollinators. Their work, sparked by a massive bee aggregation in Ithaca, suggests cemeteries’ sandy, low‑traffic grounds are ideal bee habitat and encourages residents not to exterminate similar bees in yards, parks, or golf courses.
