• Plainedge parents approve plan to expand bus service for high school students (news12.com) — Plainedge families will soon see expanded high school busing, as voters approved shrinking the no-bus zone from 1.5 miles to about 0.7 miles, making 182 more students eligible for transportation. District leaders say the January 4, 2027 change addresses safety concerns about students walking busy roads, and can be implemented without adding drivers or increasing costs.
   

• County title hopes drive Plainedge (liherald.com) — Plainedge residents can cheer on a powerhouse girls volleyball squad that’s stormed to a 9-1 start after last year’s run to the Nassau Class A finals. With most starters returning and standout performances from senior leaders and a rising freshman, the team believes it has a real shot at a county title and possibly a state run.
