Bad Weather Cancels Concert

A concert at the Community Park with the Nassau Pops Orchestra was canceled by the severe rainstorm that hit the area Friday night.

The concert was called off as the storm clouds rolled in. Event staff quickly loaded trucks, packed gear, and closed the portable bandstand just as it started to pour. 

Public safety officers turned away concertgoers at the park’s front gate. 

A band member said that the concert will probably not be rescheduled.
