Cops: Getaway Van from East Meadow Dry Cleaners Burglary Found in Plainview

A dry cleaners in Plainview was burglarized that same day, police say.

Nassau Police released surveillance photos of two people they believe burglarized an East Meadow cleaners and stole a van, which authorities said was later found in Plainview.

On Sept. 26 at 1:30 a.m., cops said the two broke into Melody Cleaners on Hempstead Turnpike and stole cash, checks, electronics, clothing, and furs.

The pair also stole a 2002 white Ford Econoline E150 van that belonged to the cleaners, cops said. That same van was later found in Plainview, police said.

Later that morning, a dry cleaner was burglarized in Plainview, though Nassau Police told Patch they would not say for certain whether the two burglaries were related.

Detectives are asking anyone with information to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
