Jacobs Gets Into the Action

Nassau County , D-Woodbury, threw out the first pitch and was the honored guest of the Plainview Event on April 1.

The group, which attends to the needs of special needs kids, is led by Rob Pickus, and played its opening game at Haypath Park. All the participants get to hit and are helped around the bases by volunteers.

"The youngsters are so proud and the parents and grandparents are so thrilled," said Jacobs. "It just warms your heart that there are people like Rob Pickus, who care enough to give so much to help so many."

That same morning, Jacobs took part in the serving as a starter.
