High schoolers on Plainview-Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy High School's robotics team, POBots, brought their STEM skills to the elementary school. They mentored the young students, providing them with a hands-on lesson in electrical circuits using everyday materials, like Play-Doh, batteries, wires, and lightbulbs.

The POBots have an outreach program called "STEM is FUN!" where they hope to inspire young learners to get interested in STEM. The POBots have been part of POBJFK for more than 25 years. Aside from STEM projects, they also focus on community service, such as charity walks, beach cleanups, and mentoring younger students. The team received a Community Impact Award presented by Optimum earlier this year.
