Plainview Hospital is a "Top Performer"

Plainview joins two other Long Island hospitals in the achievement.

Three North Shore LIJ Health System hospitals were named among the "top performers" in key quality measures by the Joint Commission.

, Southside Hospital in Bay Shore and North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset were recognized in this first ever recognition program. Only eight hospitals in New York State were named.

This was based on information reported about evidence-based clinical processes that were shown to improve care for specific conditions such as heart attacks, heart failure, surgical care, children’s asthma and pneumonia.

The Joint Commission released this performance information in an annual report on quality and safety for “Improving America’s Hospitals.”

, Southside and NSUH were among only 405 United States Hospitals and critical access hospitals that were able to meet or exceed the target rate performances.

To be recognized by the Joint Commission, a top performing hospital must meet specific criteria., Southside and NSUH earned distinction as top performers in all of the critical areas.

The Joint Commission applauded the clinical teams of , Southside and NSUH for delivering the highest level of patient care.
