Plainview-Old Bethpage Middle School Student Selected to Learn from World-Renowned Concert Pianist

Plainview-Old Bethpage School District’s Plainview-Old Bethpage Middle School sixth grader Harold Watkin-Fox is one of 100 students chosen from a pool of applicants from New York State who participated in the 101 Pianists event on Oct. 26.

Harold Watkin-Fox participated in a master class with internationally renowned concert pianist Lang Lang, where he enjoyed first-hand experience playing beside a professional pianist. After the class, Harold performed ‘Marche Militaire No. 1’ and Mozart’s ‘Rondo all Turca’ with fellow recipients for a concert at the Tilles Center.

The Lang Lang Foundation is a prestigious organization that aims to inspire and motivate the next generation of classical music lovers and performers, and to encourage music performance at all levels as a means of social development for youth, building self-confidence and a drive for excellence.
