Plainview Students Earn Black Belts after years of training!

Plainview Teens earn Black Belt!

This past Sunday 3 teenagers from Tiger Schulmann’s MMA Plainview earned their black belts. Each individual had to endure, show their skill, and demonstrate heart for five 3 minute rounds of sparring (kickboxing) and four 4 minute rounds of grappling (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Wrestling). Sarah Khemraj (17) the only female to test this time faced adversity in her test having to go up against women much older and heavier then her. She not only held her own, but excelled. Shabir Zahir (18) an amateur kickboxer with a record of 1-0 made his dreams a reality after a long 7 year journey to his black belt. A college student and part time instructor, he is making his dreams come true by going to school to become an emergency room surgeon. Finally Wil Rivas (20) a full time instructor at Tiger Schulmann’s and a undefeated kickboxer with a record of 2-0 also earned his black belt. Wil is a decorated wrestler and has won 1st in the teens expert division in NAGA the worlds biggest jiu jitsu tournament as well as 2nd place in the adults expert division. We couldn’t be anymore proud of our students who put so many hours into their training while maintaining all A’s in school. Here at Tiger Schulmann’s we have one goal. To change as many lives as possible. These teens are headed in the right direction to success, we could not be any more proud!
