Plainview students qualify for the International DECA Conference
74 Plainview-Old Bethpage Central School District Students Excel at State DECA Competition
The Plainview-Old Bethpage Central School District recently celebrated the accomplishments of the John F. Kennedy High School DECA chapter, which had 74 students qualify to compete in the International Career Development Conference. Thirty-five of those 74 students will be participating in the prestigious international event in Nashville, Tennessee at the end of April. The students were selected to compete on the international stage based on their performance in the state round, which featured more than 2,000 business-focused high school students from throughout New York State.
John F. Kennedy High School DECA advisor Lindsay DeLucca was also honored with the Outstanding Service to DECA Award. This award is presented to a New York State DECA advisor who goes above and beyond for the DECA organization. Lindsay has served as DECA advisor at JFKHS for 10 years and has served on the NYS DECA Board of Trustees for five years.
DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe.
